Flag of Latvia for the Shanghai World Expo 2010

The facade of the Latvian flag is composed of 100 000 plastic plates of 15 × 15 cm and transparent colors that glow and sway in the wind, generating a dynamic kinetic effect. The facade symbolize nature and its various facets - forests, sea, earth, sky, wind. The staircase of the pavilion's entrance will lead to an upward spiral, symbolizing a result, the progressive development of humanity. At the top of the stairs on the third floor of the exhibition hall, visitors will see a glass blowing, filled with people who steal! The tunnel will be the centerpiece of the Latvian flag. Thanks to recent technological advances, people can now fly in both figurative and literal. The Flight embodies harmony, happiness and creative energy that people have always pursued. The Latvian flag, will be installed in the central square of the Shanghai World Expo, the site occupies 1000 sq ft, and is located next to the flag of Estonia, Denmark, Greece and Belgium. It will stand out in clear and will be easy to spot, the main pedestrian street. The total area of pieces flag amounts to 920 m², with additional space taken by the blower AÉRODIUM.
