The United Nations Pavilion

The government of China invited the United Nations to show his work in Shanghai World Expo 2010 in a house of 3,000 square meters. The United Nations will have its own pavilion in the theme of One Earth One united nation. The pavilion will be located in an ideal space in the field of international organizations of the Expo site. It will accommodate rotating permanent exhibitions and a dynamic program of activities. As a leader in the UN system for sustainable urban development, UN-HABITAT will coordinate participation of all agencies, funds and programs of the United Nations to the World Expo Shanghai 2010. The message: A land, a United Nation Since ancient times, cities have established social trends, political, economic, cultural, and environmental scientists in the world - both good and bad. With half of humanity now living in cities and urban poverty, pollution and increased insecurity, are the biggest challenges facing the global community for sustainable urbanization. Evolution is a magnet for people from around the world, the city is the laboratory of our humanity, the engine of sustainable economic growth and development. The UN is the international forum where all nations meet as equals in a common interest in our unique Earth. The Shanghai World Expo 2010 will give the United Nations the opportunity to present new ideas and solutions for cities in a dazzling pavilion to present challenges and opportunities of globalization. Seen from above, the city is a complex pattern of streets, walkways and buildings of various sizes and proportions. The Pavilion of the United Nations has unveiled its new logo that formats this aerial view of the city next door, neat acronyms of United Nations and the Shanghai Expo. The logo Pavilion highlights the theme of the Expo Better City, Better Life, and brings to life the essence of the work of the United Nations in the cities: to capture a larger image, without never lose sight of local peculiarities. The logo that visually recalls that cities are sources of innovation and creativity, the challenges of urbanization can be addressed fairly and adequately, and that sustainability is within reach of all.
